Ever been on one of those dives where you you weren't assigned a dive buddy or if you have that you turn round and round again
and you can't spot your dive buddy? I think we've all been on one of those dives and although we've dived and survived, could we have done things
differently? Could we have dived more safely? The short answer is, YES!
On the SSI Independent Diving course you will learn the knowledge and skills to dive independently, with diver safety as your first priority.
You'll learn about the additional considerations and actions that you need to take. Also the additional equipment you'll need and how to safely
carry it, dive it and maintain it to ensure your own diver safey.
On this course you will learn the correct techniques to plan and safely carry out independent dives to a maximum depth of 30m. Your course includes:
- dive planning
- gas planning
- equipment considerations, set up and use

- any recreational diver that wants to dive more safely

Course Duration: 2-3 days
Course Theory: online digital learning to be completed beforehand
Minimum Number of Dives required for certification:
1 confined dive
3 open water dives
