Sidemount diving is all about choice and equipment configuration and it is different from diving the standard back mount set up
that most of us learn to dive in. The TDI Sidemount Diver course teaches students how to utilize side-mounted primary cylinders as an alternative to
the traditional back-mounted set up.
Many choose sidemount so that they carry less weight on their backs, others choose sidemount as they are looking to further their diving into caves
or wrecks where a slimline configuration can make all the difference between doing the dive safely or not at all.
Whatever your motiviation, in this workshop style course you will learn about sidemount kit set up & configuration and also environmental
considerations. In addition you will build upon your basic diver skill set to achieve sidemount buoyancy skills, trim, and positioning in the water.
The TDI Sidemount Course is all about developing your sidemount diver skills and not about depth so all the diving and learning of skills will be
completed in shallow water. It can be taught in conjunction with one of TDI's other open circuit technical specialties such as Advanced Nitrox and
Decompression Procedures. When this course is combined with another, the requirements for BOTH courses must be met.
Who is this course for?
Any certified diver looking to use sidemount configuration instead of the standard back mount set up.
Any certified diver looking to progress into technical diving, cave and advanced wreck diving.
Which courses combine well with the TDI Technical Sidemount Course?
Combine with the TDI Advanced Nitrox Procedures course to learn staged decompression technical diving with nitrox gas mixtures from 21% - 100% oxygen.
Combine with the TDI Decompression Course for the perfect introduction to safer decompression diving.
Combine all three courses here at Lanzarote Dive Centre to become a safe competent technical sidemount diver.
What's next?
After all of those, the TDI Helitrox Course or TDI Extended Range Course is next.
